On Wednesdayâs âThe View,â the co-hosts discussed the Kevin Hart cheating scandal. As Gossip Cop reported, Hart apologized to his wife, Eniko Parrish, after it was revealed he was being extorted over an alleged sex tape. Watch the video below.
While Hart didnât specifically say he cheated, he told fans, âI made a bad error in judgment and put my myself in an environment where only bad things can happen and they did.â A photo circulating online shows the actor sitting inappropriately close with a woman later identified as Montia Sabbag. At issue is an alleged video of the pair, in which a man said to resemble Hart appears naked. Hartâs camp maintains people wanted hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars, to keep the footage under wraps. They contacted the FBI, which is investigating whether Sabbag or someone else is behind the attempted extortion.
Now on the ABC talk show, which aired just before Sabbag was expected to hold a press conference, Whoopi Goldberg brought up the scandal, noting that Hart also cheated on his first wife, Torrei, who has openly complained about being used in his stand-up acts. âBut donât comedians use their life experiences in their acts?â asked Sunny Hostin. âI mean, she married a comedian. I donât know if itâs off-limits to talk about your ex. And he also, I mean, Iâve seen a lot of his stand-up. He also sort of just admitted to bad behavior [and] said he was a jerk in his first marriage.â
Sara Haines said, âThe jokes are funny, but the one caveat would be is they do have kids and those are recorded. You see them again. As an adult not emotionally-attached to him, I found the jokes funny, but his kids watching, thatâs their mom.â Joy Behar, a comedienne herself, shared, âMy kids said do not talk about me in your act and I never do. I donât have permission to do material about her life. Itâs not fair, really. And I think that thereâs a line that you cross sometimes when you talk about people you were married to⊠I donât want to put my [ex-husband] down. Whatâs the point? To get a laugh? Thereâs other things to get laughs off.â
As for the cheating aspect, Hostin said of the timing of the end of Hartâs first marriage and his relationship with Parrish, âThe math doesnât quite add up. Then people are saying, well, thatâs what she gets. You lose them how you got them.â And Behar, noting that Parrish and Torrei have feuded, said of Hartâs current wife, âShe was saying the first wife should stop acting like a victim. Donât spit up in the air, it comes back in your face. Now youâre the victim of the infidelity, so keep your [mouth] shut.â Still, of the saying âonce a cheater, always a cheater,â Hostin admitted, âI donât know if I believe that.â
âYou act different ways in different relationships,â she argued, asking, âDoes that mean heâs always going to be this cheater?â Behar said thereâs two type of cheaters: The one who is unhappy in a relationship and the one who just âcats around all the timeâ regardless. âThe second one is a serial cheater,â she pointed out. And when Hostin said, âI think you can cheat and not do it again,â Behar agreed, âJust once? Câmon, people make mistakes. I bet this whole audience has at least fantasized about cheating.â
Interestingly, Goldberg didnât give her opinion at all. Check out the video below.
