Strip Club accuses city of Augusta of violating their rights~Files lawsuit!

The estate of longtime strip club owner Whitey Lester has filed a complaint against the city of Augusta over the rights to keep Discotheque, Inc. open as a strip club.

The complaint alleges that the city is depriving the club and its owners of their rights to operate as a strip club in downtown Augusta

Whitey Lester, who owned Discotheque and Vegas Show Girls, died April 19th in Tennessee. Commissioners voted that his businesses would have to shut down or move to a building in an industrial zone upon his death.

Whitey Lester's, will was probated, which means it is officially finalized by the courts. Now, the family says the strip club ordinance put in place by the mayor and commissioners is "unconstitutional".

All ten commissioners, as well as Mayor Hardie Davis, are named in the complaint.
