An inmate death occurred early this morning at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center according to Richmond County's Sheriff's Office
34-year-old Ashley Ashley Asuncion, was transported to University Hospital around 1:30 a.m. for a what was described as a medical emergency. She was later pronounced dead at 6:42 a.m.
There are no additional details from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office but they did share that the death is under investigation by GBI and an autopsy will be performed at the GBI Lab.
Asuncion’s listed charges were Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects.
