Augusta women caught on video attacking woman at pizza spot Arrested!

The Augusta women who was caught on video attacking another woman at a local pizza spot was arrested yesterday. The video shot by bystanders went viral.The attack happened on May 17th at the Little Caesars on Wrightsboro Rd.

Richmond County Sheriff Office investigators and the U.S. Marshal’s Office arrested Brittany Kennedy in connection with the incident that happened nearly a week ago. A report by the Sheriff's Office suggest a long standing feud between the victim and Kennedy.

After eluding police for over a week, Kennedy was found in the 300 block of Calvary Drive and arrested on charges of aggravated assault, kidnapping and criminal damage to property in the second degree.

The victim, 22 year old Emily Broadwater, spoke with police after the May 17th incident but deputies also watched a surveillance video of the incident and have a copy of the Facebook video that went viral. Deputies say some Facebook post indicate that the women have a history and the issues between the two women may be linked to another earlier incident that began at the victims home.

The deputy said the surveillance video showed the victim sitting in a chair of the lobby.when Kennedy arrived just after 4 p.m. and confronted the victim.

The following is an account of what is in the report and shown on the video.

Brittany Kennedy spoke to the victim for a few seconds, then grabbed her by the hair on the back of her head and pulled her out of the chair before throwing her to the floor. Kennedy also grabbed the victim by the hair again and dragged her across the lobby.

While the the victim was lying flat on her back, Kennedy then got on top of the victim and struck her in the face and head multiple times with a closed fist. Kennedy then grabbed the victim by the hair again and dragged her onto the sidewalk in front of the business. At one point the victims child attempted to go to her mother during the beating. Bystanders pulled her away from the incident.

The victim was lying on her side at this point. Kennedy then stomped on the victim’s head multiple times, causing the victim’s head to strike the concrete each time, according to the report.

Kennedy then left in a Kia sedan, traveling in an unknown direction, according to the report.

The deputies on the scene observed that the victim had a large cut on her bottom lip, a swollen and black eye. and a large knot on her forehead along with multiple cuts on her head, face and neck. She did not lose consciousness and refused to go to the hospital and was treated at the scene by EMS.

The victim stated that she had “been having issues with the suspect for a while now,” the deputy wrote. In fact, Kennedy is a suspect in another incident involving the victim, the deputy wrote.

The victim told deputies that she's a friend of the father of Kennedy’s child and that she did want to press charges. Our news partners WRDW News 12/ NBC 26 have more on the story.
