It’s been 17 years since Destiny’s Child released “Cater 2 U.” Now, Black Twitter single sparked a debate on whether it should be canceled because it’s a “slave song.” Apparently, the opposers felt catering to a man the way trio suggested was tew much in 2021. “Come home late, tap me on my shoulder…I ROLL OVER”. ??? (Cater 2 U) NEVER liked that line cause… What breed of dog is you talking bout?” one person tweeted. On the flip side, there were plenty of women who chimed in saying there’s nothing wrong with spoiling a good man. The whole discussion got Michelle Williams’ attention. She shared a message for the critics. Using a cartoon filter, Michelle posted an IG video as Marlene and clapped back with, “I heard y’all wanna cancel the song “Cater 2 U.’ Oh honey you didn’t discern who you were catering to, and gave your little pearls to swine, so don’t be mad at Destiny Child.”
