A Chicago police officer has died after being shot on the city's Southwest Side Wednesday afternoon. The shooting happened shortly before 5 p.m. near 52nd and Spaulding. Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown said the officer was responding to a domestic call about a person with a gun in the 5200-block of South Spaulding.
